4th of July is here!  Summer is more than half way over in our area.  School lists are out and school supply sales are about to start.

I was excited to see School Spark is offering free worksheets to go with the holiday! In our area it’s way too hot to even look out the window, let alone head outdoors.  Finding things to keep kids busy is a challenge in itself.  I love to print worksheets and let the kids work on them while I’m working around the house.  If you laminate them, they can be used many times with dry erase crayons or markers.  Before the TV was built into the car mazes, word searches, and other puzzles were my kids favorite car trip activity also.

The Fourth of July is a wonderful holiday for children. Most children are on vacation from school and July falls smack in the middle of their summer vacation. After a few weeks of fun in the sun, the Fourth of July is a perfect time to introduce some educational activities into your summer routine.

These colorful and engaging worksheets are filled with pictures that symbolize the celebration of freedom. They offer a perfect opportunity for young children to keep their skills sharp while learning about this important American holiday. Use the pictures and sight words to generate conversations with your child about the meaning of freedom and why Americans celebrate it on this special day.

You can sign up on their website to receive notice each time new worksheets are posted.

Around our house we are working on beginning to read, so the site word sheets are great for flash cards.  My youngest is also working on tracing words, so those are sheets that I like to use over and over.

There are also Fourth of July Math Worksheets!  I was pretty excited to see them added.
